I keep getting this error: black screen after start

 

I tried fixes from max etc, but it doesn't work (works for UFO Defense, though).

 

There is some hint on changing the res - but how do I do that?

 

HP says: There is also a patch which, among other things, makes the game run as a 640x480x16mil application instead of the traditional 320x200x256 size. You can find this patch here (two-part download in the first two posts).
