hatfarm
Hello all, I've designed a windows based X-Com editor. I'd like to hear what you guys think of it. The website is: http://www.stonepool.com/xcom/ It might work for TFTD, I haven't tried it however. I do know that most of the stuff is the same so some of it probably works. Thanks. -Chris Vosshttp://www.stonepool.com/xcom/http://www.theyouthclass.com
[[Micah]]
A few quick initial impressions: -the base names for all the bases other than the first one have ascii characters and random words attached to them. -Would it be possible to replace (or add) the base facilities text boxes with the facility graphics themselves? When I look at the current text-only boxes, it reminds me a lot of the old dos-based editors. I guess I just think using the graphics would look impressive and make it easier to use the program. I think the editor looks really nice It's the best-looking/working windows-based editor I've used thus far.

hatfarm
I did make a TFTD Editor. It's not got nearly as many features but it's on my site now.
Exo2000
Looking at your site I looked at the file info. It's safe to assume that GEODATA.DAT contains info about the Geosphere. I'll have to try the thing when I get back home in a few hours. My bad, BST. Don't ask. Edited September 3, 2004 by Exo2000

Very nice editor indeed. It don't have problems with displaying correct base for transfered crafts/soldiers. I think i will prefer it over Clark Wehyr editor. BTW, which functions is lacking TFtD editor? And could you develep it just like Xcom editor?Ros
Lambers
I tried out the editor but every save game I try to load I get the error "unitref.dat is empty" any help on this one? -Andy
[NKF]
Sounds like it won't start until all files are loaded, and the game keeps separate files for the geoscape and the battlescape. Unitref.dat is a battlescape file. On solutions is to save in the battlescape at least once in that savegame slot to create the battlescape files. - NKF P. S: TFTD has a few minor variations in file formats. Most notably unitref.dat, where some of the values have been moved around, and one or two have been changed from bytes to short integers, so no, it won't be immediately compatible with all files.
