wolphin
The site is nice. However, it seems to have been transferred fromwww.xcomufo.com/hatfarm to hatfarm.xcomufo.combecause the links to the files are not local links and refer to the previous location. Therefore they are currently broken. Deleting the "http://www.xcomufo.com/hatfarm/" part of the links should fix them.
wolphin
Though apparently that's only the site listed from the top level of the forums,"Xenocide & xcomufo Forums" which points to "http://hatfarm.xcomufo.com/". The link from this forum "Hatfarm's Xcom Game Data Website Subforums"points to "http://www.stonepool.com/xcom/". But then if you go to hacking data you find the moved un-updated page. Sooooo I made a small archive of this so called "Hacking data" to be viewed locally for your viewing pleasure. hatfarm.zip The only difference with the website is that all links are local. So you can navigate the pages as long as they are in the same directory.Just load the index.html file. Enjoy!

wolphin
All you have to do is to read, for example, soldier.datin the directory for one of your saved game with a hex editor. Then you go to the offset indicated (in hexadecimal)and change the value to something else.
Gurluas2000
i dont understand that...how do i go to the offset?
wolphin
The offset is the number of bytes since the beginning of the file. So the first byte in a file is at offset 0x0 (0 in hexadecimal since there is no other byte before it).the second would be 0x1... after 0x9 we go to 0xA, 0xB since we are in hexadecimal. Let's say you use fhred, a free hex editor [ http://www.kibria.de/frhed.html ],now it's a bit quirky for searching byte values but otherwise it's ok. Now say you want to go to offset 41 in soldier.dat, then you use Ctrl+G and type x41.Then you can modify that value from 00 to ff. That's it! Hope that was usefull.
