Custom Member Titles

Is it possible to allow members to use their own custom titles as in StrategyCore? They use the same Forum software as we do so I believe that would be possible? Anyway, I think that would be nice, what do you admins say? :)

If you had a custom member title, you wouldn't be able to see you are a CTD member :)
So it would only be for regular forum members, maybe it would even be a discouragement to join PX OMG

Does it change that much whether we know if you are in the Alien Concepts Taskforce or not?

well, i'm sure we can all see ARTWORK DEPARTMENT, and as long as you stay in the same member group(you can't change that) post rank titles don't matter

I don't like our group icons anyway, I'd prefer to have our old pips back, and as for the special titles, I'd say they are pretty unimportant, specially now that most (if not all) taskforces are pretty much dead (The only one I see from the Alien Concepts taskforce active is you, and the proofreading one works strangely...)

As a matter of fact, I did change my mind :), I found it interesting at first, but now I miss my pips! but I'm talking about the titles, not pips here :)

IIRC we* have had custom titles before, I know mine was Insidious One at some point... Can't remember why they were removed atm

nah, even i had a custom title :P

IIRC they were removed with the casino, since people that didn't want to participate in it could have a custom title.

too bad, now you will never know the ancient secrets of supsupers long gone avatar ;)

I think Custom titles should be optional, and shouldn't interfere with the "official" title.

May I also propose a change? (I will anyway :P)

Many people are MIA. But others (like Blehm was for some time) aren't really missing, but they just don't have enough time to work on the project.

School issues force me to focus in studying :P. Hey, I'm on the 12th grade, and then university awaits me ^^

Anyway, quite offtopic... my point:

Add another group called: "In Cryo", or "In Cryogenic Storage". Those people aren't really missing, but are "suspended" for a while until they return

Well I had been deliberatly ignoring this thread (as stewart had too) trying to let it die by time, mostly because of the posible repercussion for the Projects that XComUFO forums hosts. In my case talking only about Xenocide, letting everybody change the title have to potential to create havok; mostly as anyone can for instance put it just for an example: "Creative Text Department" in its title and mislead others (not as bad as RedKnight with different casing but bad anyway).

Another problem arise that in the future we may use information from the Title with the integration so Xenocide Members would not be allowed to change it. That would discriminate and hamper the abilities of PX Members among the rest of the members something that we dont want to. So it is in the best interest that noone can, instead of some people be able and others not.

Hope that you understand the reasons.
