  1. Near the end of last year they re-released all xcom games on steam. First three games are playable through dosbox. Supposedly they also fixed that problem with probes and bases in interceptor. Link: http://store.steampowered.com/app/7730/ Regards
  2. Ok, I tried with win98, and as you said, it won't go. I get sound, intro, but when I go into menu, there is no picture (everythink is black), but i hear music, and I heard "click" if I blindly click with mouse on new game (or something, because I don't see it ). When i'll have more time, i'll try and get it to work, hopefully. Or else --> good old DOS .
  3. I'll be glade to try playing int over net. I'll have plenty of time (hey man, they are holidays ), so just tell when and where. Well, i never played games over net, so it will be whole new experience ), but I think that 5 players is to little for a good fight. (but than again, if they are good...)
  4. There are problems with alien bases and pirate bases 100% on xp (see it on my own eyes). Who knows, maybe on some systems everything goes fine, and on others no. (like X-com apocalypse - everybody says that CE runs on XP, but not here by me). Those x-com games
  5. soundman Tell me, you have problems with probes, and not with bases?? Beacause on xp there is problem with both.
  6. Yup, exactly, you must DELETE it all
  7. I gues that bug is on win2k as well. But with probes bug there is also a base bug (you can't destroy alien (or pirates) bases and outpost), so you must have win98 or less
  8. Just try to shoot down aliens, and boosting energy to shield, so you won't be the one to be shooted down. Anyway, your team mates do all job for you. To bad that you can have only 5 interceptor in one group. (this is just 5 too many)
  9. Well, if anybody want to have x-com interceptor (full CD), I have it. Say the magic word
  10. I found that on x-com.co.uk http://www.x-com.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=169 -------------- well,u cant fix the problem with normal probes but those data jammers can be delt with. steps to fix it: 1.change ur gamesettings congif file from read only to non-read only by right clicking and going to properties, then unmark the read only check mark. 2.now,open the file with note pad or what ever and find the following: [intelJammerProbe] Side=ALIEN_EXCLUSIVE ProdTime=1 Cost=1 Size=1 EnergyCost=1 RechargeRate=1 HitPoints=100 RepairRate=1 Penalty=1 Range=1 Materials=1 SellPrice=500000 TechRequired=-1 TechRequired2=-1 TechItem=69 and delete that and tity it up and bingo,no data jammers. worked for me on XP ------------
  11. In that verision of apoc is no music, because the file that contains music is alone 300 mb, and the whole archive is only around 50 megs or so.
  12. Well, there is a prob when playing x-com interceptor in win xp. You can't attack alien probes and bases. When you try to target it, it says that distance is 0.00 and you can't get a lock at it. I tried with compatibilty mode, no luck. If anybody know how to fix that, then go ahead. But it's a great game, and a big thx to xracer for that.
  13. Well i guess then its a real thing. Heh, I dowloaded it, but I cannot run apocalypse in xp. Everything goes fine (install, intro movie) and then just exit without any error. And yes, I used all fixes, i disable directx, try every possibility in compatibilty mode etc. I have voodoo 3 3000 and i thing that is causing problems. Does anybody else managed to run apoc with voodoo 3, under xp? In DOS goes everything superb, but I don't prefer restarting computer over and over again.
  14. Does somebody knows if that x-com collectors edition cd2.rar that could be found on donkey network work in windows xp?? And if it is at all CE? And not that old dos version?
