  1. Ah, right. The MP3 launcher runs itself and then runs "UFO Defense.exe". If you change the name of the executable you want to use to "UFO Defense.exe", it should work. Just make sure you keep backups of all exes so you don't get them confused. Also, I think the MP3 launcher needs everything to be in "c:/UFO Defense/". If you're using a different directory, you may have problems.
  2. It should work, I think. All it actually does is monitor read attempts to the MIDI files, and then play the appropriate MP3 instead. It runs in parallel with whatever executable you're using. Does it not work for you?
  3. Right... Abram, if you're still reading this, I'm interested in hearing about your patch. Respond here, I'm monitoring this thread.
  4. I'm running the Windows version of X-COM, with Mok's 2xSAI executable and the original-sound patches. I'm having one problem: the music volume is way too low. (I've also noticed some of the pitch-dropping people mentioned in Mok's original thread). If I use the original executable, the music is fine. Mok mentions that his executable "plays music through DirectMusic". Could this be the problem? If so, is there a way to force it back to standard MIDI? Other than the volume issue, they both sound exactly the same on my computer (Dell Latitude D505 laptop). For the record, I have tried using Mok's exe without the sound patch, and got the same result, so that's not it. I've run dxdiag and looked in the Music tab; I've got four ports, Microsoft Synthesizer, SigmaTel Audio, Microsoft MIDI Mapper [Emulated], and Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth [Emulated]. The first two are definitely quieter, but otherwise sound exactly the same. While I'm on the topic, is there any way to use xcomutil with Mok's executables? I love all the timing and graphical issues the 2xSAI exe fixes, but I'd kill for xcomutil's "remember squaddie loadout" function.
