Well trying to find players on Facebook. So far its only me and Ivan Salvador aka (Ivan 7k) and you perhaps. How come you dont have a facebook account?

Okay guys, I figured out what was the deal with the sound issue on Windows 7, and that was because not having the original xcom game installed where the sound libraries came from The facebook group is alive so if your're not on there, please join https://www.facebook.com/groups/ufo2000/

I haven't played this game in about a year and a half and its pretty safe to say that it's dead. For the most part I have had issues with the game using Windows 7, there is no sound. I thought it was an issue with the sound driver on the computer that I was using then but I built a new PC and same issue with the computer with no sound. At this point now the game hasn't been updated in 2 years and the main server appears to be down and it looks like it has been that way for quiet several months now. I remember back in the day a few years ago you could jump in the server and always find a game. I would like to throw a special thanks to Serge and the other programmers out there. A few special players come in mind such as Fuel (Netherlands) who contributed to the 7K rule and revolutionized warfare, always a hard player to beat. Fomka from Estonia another great player, Matal from Poland/Russia who had over a 1000 games or so played, Duke from Czech Republic, Hobbes from Portugal, and a good friend from Spain named Ivan, I am sure there was a lot of other players out there who I failed to name but these are the few that come to mind. Hopefully there is a major update to this game perhaps and we could play again but since its free and the programmers do not get paid, I am not sure if this happening again. Thanks Meodai for joining and hopefully you can contribute to expand the game and make it alot better.... I have made a JS that works with the actual HTML version. It makes statistics per user more accessible (you can access the profile of each gamer by clicking on them (even in the list where you see who is online)) And it give the palyer ranks. (Based on the original XCom soldier ranks). Maybe we could join this toghether. I am a frontend engineer (Programming Javascript, CSS2, 3 HTML4,5 xml, ActionScript and a little PHP) I am not active on the project but i tried to It was kinda rejected. So i did not continue... with the use of social sites becoming more popular, we can put a plugin on the official ufo 2000 page to the facebook.. we can have more players that way...

its down again... thats why nobody plays anymore because the server dies and it changes and not updated.... :<

Who ever makes maintains the website for the official page should add a button that says "find us on facebook" and paste this link https://www.facebook.com/groups/ufo2000/

I made this topic in the lobby section. We have an official group in facebook, do a search for "ufo 2000" ... many of us use facebook and since theres millions of people there, we can get new people to join. If you need assistance, post in here.

Forums have been great so far, but with facebook reaching millions of users, I created an official group in facebook called "ufo 2000" do a search you can also find me on there and I will invite you to the group if you cannot find it. find me as "[email protected]" I think we should talk in there about anything, as far as finding players and posting news on server...

Hobbes, i dont understand why you want to play the older version... the newer one is alot better... although for whatever reason... I could be wrong, there is no more game music.. so now i have to load some mp3's while I play.

Everyone for the most part has msn as their source of IM ... but I been thinking if everyone should start joining IRC .. so that the community can get bigger and everyone can chat at the same time. im going to start a chatroom on IRC called #ufo2000 on undernet. im starting in undernet because its a popular network rather than the old network that nobody has ever heard about. What does everyone think??? we can also try quakenet.. its a popular irc network for games... but for now lets try undernet join #ufo2000 come on guys!!!!
