  1. @SupSuper: I'd love to do so actually. Still have the piano and the orchestral libraries. Soundcard is an old firewire400, will need to buy an adapter. @gu35s: Likewise, it's the community, you guys, that made it an amazing experience I'm glad to see you alive and kicking!
  2. Any interest in doing so? ;-)
  3. SupSuper, awesome, you're a hero! Thank you. Is anyone actually still working on this project?
  4. Hey Micah, Likewise, nice to hear from you :-) Apparently I do not have access to that part anymore, being an inactive member of the project. Is there any other way to access it?
  5. Hi everyone, It has been ages (years) since I've been here. How are you guys doing? Does anyone know where the SVN or public FTP is? Has it been deleted? If anyone still has the music tracks, can you send them or put them online please? Cheers, ATeX
  6. I've personally started to put all available time and effort into real life goals. I also left my leading position at Quasar. I'm still supporting that project, but that's about it. I'm not sure when the first release of Quasar will be available. That will depend on the decisions and approach of the new leader, Kora. Sounds like a good team you have there. Are you creating art then?
  7. That's great news! Glad to see you keep the spirit alive. How many are you at the moment? greets from an old friend and ex-colleague, ATeX
  8. To clarify Mad's statement: I left, but not because I got bored. There were several other reasons. And in order to keep this discrete, I prefer not to mention them. Either way, I wish this project and their members all the best. - Thomas
  9. This might help: http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php...highlight=quads http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php...highlight=quads Blender is a great 3D package, but it compares to the big 5 just like The Gimp does to Photoshop. It's not the real thing. So, I suggest that you try to get your hands on one of those. There are very cheap academic versions out there. - Thomas
  10. Commercial: 3dsmax, XSI, Maya, Cinema4D, Lightwave, ... Free: Blender I know skinning in 3DSMax has been improved a lot. EDIT: For your knowledge: There is no superior commercial program as they are all able to reach about the same result. It's up to the artist to make quality. There's a very good article about this somewhere out there. EDIT2: Btw, Sporb. I think you've just found your talent. Good looking models! Only one thing: try to keep quads when modeling for games as triangulation might get messed up otherwise.
  11. Ever tought a little bit further than aliens that resemble to life forms we know? Ever tought that it could be that there are more entities than time and space? Ever realised that our 5 senses can only measure a minuscule fraction of all wave forms? So, the possibility that UFO's (in the context you mean it) exist in the ways we imagine them, is exceptionally small. But it is a fact that the chance there is life in the universe is very high (and by universe I mean, more than all time and space togheter, including entities we cannot detect or even imagine) And then still, what is life? How do you define life? This topic is an endless question that always comes back to the same answer: we will never know as we are too primitive to understand or percept. Greets, Thomas
  12. Installing either one of those CMS's is quite easy. You'll only need 1) to be able to create DB's by either a CPanel or a MySQL prompt 2) have access to PHPMyAdmin or similar so you can edit the DB easily 3) and have FTP access for uploading, chmodding etc Just follow the guidelines and it'll point itself out, at least, if you have some experience at those 3 points. Ah yes, and before putting the site in a CMS, make it W3C Valid. That'll prevent you from having problems as well on the CMS side as on the browser compatibility and search engine side. Good luck! greets, Thomas
  13. to extend the suggestion of Kafros, Use Typo3. It's the only open source CMS that can compete with commercial versions. I say this as an expert so you can take me on my word. It's part of my job now. If you don't want the power of Typo3 (which I doubt), use Joomla, PHPWCMS or similar. And no, the font is not too small, it only lacks contrast with the background. greets, Thomas
  14. Thanks for your input Well, I think most of the errors come from the div ID, which I don't think is a serious problem, the log in field which will be changed as soon as the site has scripting functionality, and deeplinks to the forums Actually I don't know if the div id problem justifies a rewrite of the CSS. edit: this is not to say I don't see your point, because I do. I'm "just" questioning the need to be strictly compliant as long as it works in the frequent used browsers... ID's are ID's. They can only be used once. Define classes instead Furthermore, use transitional instead of Strict. It'll make your life a lot easier. The need for W3C Valid websites is high. I suggest you try to alter the code. For what I've seen at the validation, it should take an hour max. greets, Thomas
  15. It might need some cleaning up for the XHTML Strict code. Maybe also the CSS code. Just trying to help the one who's developing. To easy the coding, try Transitional instead of Strict. Take a look at this: http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&ur...xenocide.com%2F http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/validat...xenocide.com%2F greets, Thomas
