Just wondering? I am selling my old PC and getting a new one, it had windows 98. The Xcom loader/patch worked fine on it but will it work in XP, do i need anything else?

So i cant kill it?

I think that i heard this somewhere in this forum quite a while ago, that if you MC a chrysalid zombie, then shoot it open you get a chrysalid that is under your control for the rest of the game. Is this true???

I always go for laser weapons before plasma, usually it takes too long to equip the squad with the small amount of plasma weapons i have at the beginning. I wait until the third month then i research heavy plasma.

was that his accuracy at the beginningr?! You can recruit rookies with higher accuracy. My best shooter on my current squad is Michael Sharpe, he has 119 accuracy. He was out of action for the first part of my game when he was gnawed on by a Reaper, i had no medikits and by the time i had hunted down all the aliens he had 2 HP left.

About 2 months ago I was reading a thread which had a link to a one page X-Com site with downloads of X-Com 1,2, and 3 on it. I didn't book mark it then because it had all 3 X-Coms. But now I need to move the games to my new computer and X-Com 1 isn't working. Would the X-Com at that have a patch of some sort?

I have a fair amount of aqua plastics but I can't research armor, what do I need to research it? :whatwhat:

The aliens invaded my base three days after I started. But the Aquatoids were all standing in a group in one sub pen, so I tossed a grenade in there and finished all the Calcinites later.

Ten to twenty soldiers on beginner if im lucky, most of the time it is twenty to forty lost soldiers on expert.

I love terror ships. If you attack them with a Firestorm and only use one plasma cannon, you can usually keep the power cores intact but there will be a hole or two in the ship, leading to the upper level.

I dont know why, I just love mountains. You rarely get to fight there.

I would have to say that the Lobstermen are my worst enemies. I responded to an attack on a shipping route on an Expert game and after clearing the upper decks I had lost two of my ten men to lobster attacks. I went to clear the lower decks, which was fairly easy until I encountered six lobster in the engine room. They rushed my squad and killed the two soldiers who had just entered through the doors. This happened at the beginning of the second month of the game all I had researched was Gauss pistols, rifles, sonic pistols and only 3/4's of my squad had aqua-plastic. Everyone except two of my soldiers had been wounded. Die Lobstermen!!

Just wondering where and when people got copies of XCOM 1, I got mine in the June '01 edition of PC Gamer magazine, along with several other old games
