  1. I found an interesting post over at the Steam forum, which (on the third-to-last paragraph) states that any collateral damage done in the Battlescape is only blamed on X-COM, even if the Aliens caused it. Does anyone know if this is correct? The Ufopaedia wiki doesn't seem to mention it, so maybe it's a lesser known feature that I just don't know about? Logically, it's both contradictory and makes sense in that while the Aliens are infesting their offices, it wasn't until X-Com stomped over there and provoked a firefight that the damage truly started. X-Com becomes the scapegoat for insurance money. Seeing as how replies are scarce here now-a days, don't be afraid to chip in even if the thread has been idle for a month or two.
  2. While turn-based is more classic. Real-time is the bizz! Damn those blue cookie monsters and their Boomeroids.
  3. Furniture from the Terror Missions? You know, make it a bit more alive, as if someone fled the scene when they saw a gigantic silver disc crashing into the farmland.
  4. I recently made a reboot of my interest to X-Com and I began playing on Superhuman. It's surprisingly not as horrible as I thought. The only difference seems to be tougher aliens and heavy plasmas to drown in. I'll just skip step 3 and jumping directly into PROFIT. I'm drowning in money. I don't know what to spend it on. D: On another note, why does Cyberdisks take 5-6 shots from the Laser Rifle before it explodes, but only has to be looked upon angrily by a single shot from the Heavy Plasma to blow up into magic double-rainbow fireworks? I feel discriminated by Alien technology.
  5. The game looks pretty good. I found the 3D animations VERY lacking, but the gameplay looks solid. A bit meh about the story, but it looks like something you can try. That Let's Player don't know about mah X-Com. A veteran that refuses to spam the Auto Shot?! WHAT IS THIS BLASPHEMY!
  6. *Giggles* But those voice actors. Frank, FRANK! FRAAAAANK!
  7. Perhaps a little off-topic, but if the alien ships are organic, why can't we mount a gigantic stun cannon on the Griffon?
  8. I have yet to digest that you buffed the Popper. Give me a minute.
  9. Agreed, it has saved me countless times from raging or save-loading.
  10. I've checked it, though. I run the set-up, pick my options including the Psi-screening (with lab), but it won't work. Not even after a combat session the new stats are shown. It only functions when I tick the other option of displaying it at all times, even with or without the Psi-lab researched.
  11. The XCom in the new story is a division of the FBI, I believe.
  12. Answer : Because you don't need a spacesuit to survive on a Snickers mission. Question : Why didn't we just nuke Cydonia?
  13. Say what now? For some reason, I've never had trouble with Chrysalids, but that might be that I mostly play on Day missions... I find Cyberdisks a pain in the butt for their reaction skills.
  14. Check every closet, every room. heck, check your inner base. There's a bug that the aliens might spawn inside your base if they lack spawn points. Though, it's rare to none if you have the starting base (3 hangars)
  15. Heh, well... It's just that there are so many x-com remakes or spiritual successors around that are all only half-finished.
