  1. I have posibility to buy old Gravis Ultrasound card for about... 9$ But i don't know will it work with UFO/XCOM ver 1.0 for DOS. And what about other cards? I know that DOS ver plays sound and music very well with 8-bit sound cards but which of them? Ros
  2. Yesterday i've almost lost Shifty Powers (i name best soldiers after guys from Band of Brothers). I was attacking Terror Ship full of Floaters and Reapers and Shifty was standing near door after killing one Floater with no TU left. End turn and another Floater comes in, shoots Shifty two times, he drops unconcious. I've managed to kill that bug and Captain Kitana rescued poor Shifty. 35 days in hospital for him, man it was very close... Ros
  3. Correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't Incendiary ammo strognest of all? I mean, when you read Ufopedia not many aliens are resistant to it (Snakeman and Celatid i think). And it has got area effect too. Ros
  4. Yeah but i have to use 1.4 DOS ver (which has got crappy death screams) because in 1.0/1.2 ver i don't have sound and music. So i've copied sound files from Voice Patch but it didn't worked. Still don't know why. Ros
  5. I've created Xcom1 weapon mod that tweaks purchasable and laser weapons. Now they are stronger and have faster rate of fire than alien weapons. On the other hand plasma weapons are more accurate and a little bit stronger. IMO weapons are more balanced and you can use human tech along with alien weapons. I've made it rather for personal use but maybe you will like it. Or not. Anyway feel free to post comments. Mod was created for Dos ver but it should also work for CE ver. Ros WeaponMod.zip
  6. Recently, i've also started game on Superhuman (but with reloads - i'm not that tough). My main base is in Europe, somewhere in Poland. Rearmed my Interceptors, euiped my men and it started. Medium and Large Scouts are flying all around and my crafts can't keep up with them Even very small UFO's are hard to catch and they keep disengaging very often. Managed to down one Small Scout and recovered it losing one soldier (Sectoid came out from barn which i thought is empty). Also those bastards are very active all around the world, especially in South America and Asia which are a long way from my base. I think i will raise my chances and use some save editor before it will ruin my health Ros
  7. If you are playing Dos ver you can use Alien Containment editor which you can found here: http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~xcom/x1f2.shtml Just delete them. If you have Collectors Edition Win version you could try Xcom Hack ver 2.45 found here: http://www.stonepool.com/xcom/ With it you can only change them into other races or specialities. Ros
  8. Very nice editor indeed. It don't have problems with displaying correct base for transfered crafts/soldiers. I think i will prefer it over Clark Wehyr editor. BTW, which functions is lacking TFtD editor? And could you develep it just like Xcom editor? Ros

  11. Sure. RL (10) + Large Rocket (8) = 18 and HC (18) + ammo clip (6) = 24 Auto Cannon weights 19 but ammo clips are a bit lighter (5). Strange IMO. Ros

    After reading "Band of Brothers" i name my best soldiers with names of characters from the book. Dick Winters and Carwood Lipton rocks. Ros
  13. Actually my first experience with Ufo was two years ago. Earlier i played TFtD and i loved this game. So one day i wanted to see UFO but i couldn't make it run on my computer. Talking about first impression So i didn't played it until i found Xcomufo forums. I've downloaded CE ver and i'm playing it for a month now :plasma: It's a great game, one of the best i played but i like TFtD more. Lobstermans are so cool Ros
  14. Hmmm... Rocket Launcher weight is 10. In comparison with Heavy or Auto Cannon (18 and 19) its light. Isn't this strange? It's a big weapon and IMO it should be heavier or cannons lighter... Ros
  15. I did it and death screams are still from DOS 1.4 ver. I've copied Sample 2 and Sample 3 CAT files but game is using old ones which is very strange because i replaced them. Any sugestions? I have DOS ver of UFO:EU. Ros
