Name: Bucket-san Role: Trooper/Fire Support Weapon Preference: Laser rifle(when available) and tons of grenades/HE packs. if you're willing to fill the HC with HE, then that as well, but it's not necessary Gender's irrelevant, and I'll have no armor, he/she's a xenophode and won't have no alien equipment... except grenades, things that go boom are a-ok. ...ok maybe you can outfit an armor if he/she raises the ranks and would cause a big morale hit on death, but otherwise I'd rather not

ah so they become free meat shields/scouts for the duration of the terror mission. handy.

the way i have it working on my XP machine: get the dos version somewhere(anyone with even half-decent internet knowledge should find one) get dosbox and D-Fend and use them to run the dos version

+ the number 1 ability of the laser weapons over the others: no ammo usage. it's a handy thing when trying to shoot the last enemy out of its hiding. explosives do it much faster, but use ammo, which runs out rather quickly(in my use anyway )

...or who has blasters/rockets/he rounds

the power source should be fine, explosions dont reach through intact walls(as far as I know)

as i have been reading these forums, i've noticed some of you dont like how the interceptors back off when they use up all their ammo, and thus only 4 avalanches hit the terror ship per interceptor, and you have to use 3 interceptors to down the terror ships. well i found this quite quickly in the game: after the interceptor shoots the second salvo, get it to agressive attack. it will then charge towards the ufo and the last 2 missiles will hit too(just be careful not to get into the terror ship's weapon range) so there you go, terror ufo down with 2 ints with avalanches i hope this information isn't totally obsolote to you...

I often secure small UFO doors in a 3 soldier wedge formation, so there is one man next to the door and 2 diagonally to his sides. this way anyone opening the door will be shot by 3 soldiers :: after that, i enter with the first guy(the 2 others can still shoot the aliens inside from their places, and i might have 1 more in the middle and move the one entering to the side and shoot the aliens into their ship ) oh and this tactic is extremely risky for the person next to the door, so he(or she, if you like that "women first" thing) should be a Rookie or some other low class i would arm the one next to door with stun rod or laser pistol in other and an explosive weapon(any) in the other hand(for suicide purposes if necessary)
