  1. Ok, this is two pieces of conecpt art I have been using a guide when I did my version of the sectoid. These where done by one of my classmates in under 45 min time, so they aren't completly correct when it comes to scale and placement:
  2. Hmm, the interceptor track could use a little punch. You could try and replace the standard kick with something heavier. The orchestra hits gives a nice feel of stress, but they just sound weird at the end of the track. Maybe you could try with a bass instead?
  3. This is the kind of music that I want to hear, lowkey, atmospheric stuff. A bit too much screeching with the keyboard (harp?) sound though. Tone it down and I can see this going into the game.
  4. OK, that seems resonable. Then I will start working on the lowpolygon version of the gun. And see I can get a hold off drewid so that he can start creating some new textures. If no-one else feels the call, that is.
  5. Slide: back. Now, there are some things that should be corrected. The pin (or what you call it) is stuck to the slide and the hatch where the brass gets thrown out is also modeled with the slide. It's not hard to fix, I just wonderd if I should bother with it. Are we going to use fully animated models in the Ufopedia, or just rotations?
  6. This is a completly new version of the gun. It doesn't look anything like the old 450 polygon version that drewid textured. So, I think that it should be retextured.
  7. Ack, now everyone can see the smoothing problems . Ok, A is one version. The problem (?) with this one is that it looks constantly pissed of. I don't konw if that is a good or bad thing. I have always pictured the Sectiod as calm and unmoveable. B is the original. C is a more asianlooking version. Removed the "pissed-off" expression. These are just quick renders to check whichever your guys like the best.
  8. Less height, you mean? Squash them a little more?
  9. OK, the toes are no problem, those can quickly be redone as a sold mass. The fingers are another thing entirely. Since this model is meant to be used as ufopedia model I think that all fingers should be modeled for added realism. For Battlescape.... I'm not sure. Can we really get away with a solid mass instead of fingers? Maybe a solid mesh for three finger + the tumb? They look a little weird because they are foursided. I can quickly add a segment under the fingers to get that halfcircle profile that fingers actually has.
  10. Due to public demand, the Sectoid model has undergone quite alot of modification, it's now 2378 polygons, has a smoother face, less weird chest area and still quite a lot of smoothing problems:
  11. Heh, it's always nice to hear nice things about your work. But, please, nitpick! I need to know if there's something that needs to be added or edited.socom2.3DS

Or we don't need animations, just as has been suggested, a slideshow of pictures. Perhaps with gentle fade in/outs to black?

Vaaish, wouldn't it work even better if the alien-in-the-middle were animations? Not too much movement, just as you say, to set the mood. I remember watching Aliens when I was 11. One of the best things with that movie was in the original version they never showed the aliens on-screen until the reactor scene. It was obvious that there were aliens on the planet, but it set the mood. So, moody and dark animations are my suggestion. Keep the rings around the middle area, move the menu more to the center (in fact, just move it right until it's dead center) but not so it's interfearing with the animation.
