Mark0
lets say u have 80 devastator guns.. what will you do with them?? probably sell them and get lots of $$ so here comes my question: when you sell those guns, The organisations buy them right?? this questrion has been in my head for weeks cause ive seen organisations have alien tech.if they aren't under alien control it means they buy what you sell.right?? j'ordos
found this in the strategy guide : Stock LevelsAt the start of each new week, it may appear as if the X-COM or alienproduced items you sell have been bought up by other organizations. Howmuch inventory disappears is determined as follows: 40% chance of nothing being bought. 30% chance of 1/5th the stock being bought. 30% chance of 1/3rd the stock being bought. miceless
So you can see things that you sell being sold back to you later? Cool. Presumably theres a large markup.
j'ordos
I don't know if you will see them in your purchase list again, but you will definately see them if you raid some organisations
BurnThemALL
I also thought about this, I planned to only sell Disruptors and keep all Devastators, but I almost had to build a new storage room for that. So I sold them in one big hit and got rich. Aliens use them, why not letting enemy orgs also use it? I burn them anyway... :flame: :psychosanta: I also thought about producing Toxi Guns to sell them for making money, if enemies would use them, it wouldn't hurt too much. miceless
I don't know if you will see them in your purchase list again, but you will definately see them if you raid some organisations I see. Thats a nice loop. Take the weapons, sell them, take the weapons back, sell them. Lots of cash anyone? Are the organisations easy to raid right from the beginning, or should I wait a bit? j'ordos
Do you intend to SAVE the city??? If no, raid at will If yes, ditto, but try to limit it to Cult of Sirius if you don't want any enemies. Companies you MUST raid: Transtellar, Marsec, Megapol, Government Hmmm, seems I forgot the word "not" somewhere in the previous sentence... miceless
Of course I intend to save the city! Can I raid Sirius at will, right from the beginning, or can I expect to get creamed if I go too early?
j'ordos
You CAN raid Sirius at will, they have the same weapons as you do, their guards aren't that bad, but they don't have armor (or do they have some? Never noticed any though) They actually get worse over time, when the aliens control them and they get all that fancy stuff before you get it Edited July 15, 2003 by j'ordos
miceless
Sweet. Ill plan a raid for when i get back tonight then. I need the cash. Got to show them whos boss. I mean they had the cheek to demand money off me!

If no, raid at will raid at will OR.. DESTROY the hole city , now you show whos boss ! muahahahah i did it once. had plent of $$ and had 15 annihilators, enaugh to own everything. btw in my super human game.. psyke is at war with megapol both allways raid each others.. gotta show them whos boss Edited July 16, 2003 by Mark0
j'ordos
In my game the weaklings signed a treaty btw, do you know the difference between storming and raiding an org. I can't storm anything, but sometimes there's this message "organisation stormed"...(and sometimes "organisation raided" too) i think they are all 'equal' The strategy guide says there IS a difference :9.2.12 Megapol OfficersThreat: DangerousJust two things. One, they are as heavily armed as you. Two, do you reallywant to piss off Megapol?9.2.13 Cult MembersThreat: DangerousEvery temple is stocked with rocket launchers and autocannons. Could beworse -- they don't sell you flowers at the spaceport.9.2.14 Gang MembersThreat: DangerousGang members sleep with their rocket launchers.9.2.15 Rent-a-CopsThreat: You Gotta Be JokingThe in-house security for places like Sanctuary Clinic and the ElectricCompany, these guys aren't paid enough to risk their lives. Never noticed any though) They actually get worse over time, when the aliens control them and they get all that fancy stuff before you get it I believe cultists never get armor. However, in advanced stages of the game, they will start to use personal energy shields and similar stuff, so it gets a bit harder to kill them... Oh what am I saying? One or two nice grenades in the middle of the small groups they usually form will clean them all!!
j'ordos
Who uses grenades when all those launchers are at your disposal??? (you did keep some from those raids, tell me you didn't sell them all ) They are GREAT against those small groups, one missile in the middle and: gone small group
BurnThemALL
Mark0 is the raid specialist, I personally think that gangs are quite tough because they play with rocket launchers all the time. Their main problem is, their slums easily catch fire... :flame: by accident of course... :psychosanta: j'ordos mentioned a very interesting point... What's really the difference between raid and storm, and why can't we STORM?
j'ordos
Yes, their slums are VERY flammable... One incendiary grenade, fast forward, and wait until they either burn up or come running to you in panic I'll skim the strat. guide, maybe it says something about storming??? j'ordos
There are two types of rocket launchers available: Heavy Launcher and MiniLauncher, both by Marsec. They're only available for sale after a while though, but the Cult of Sirius and the gangs have plenty of them, even before they are available (so don't bother buying them later )

j'ordos
I believe so... but if you hold the mousecursor over the missile (or any other ammo) you can see how much ammo they still have loaded. A heavy launcher rocket only has one round (obviously) whereas the mini launcher rocket has 5 rounds... (less obvious )
