  1. I'm going inactive because of my real life and do not see at this moment when I will return. Cheers to all UFO fans!
  2. I say "No problem", since the shutdown and your post highlighted to me the fact that UFO2000 is also connected to Stop Online Piracy Act issue, such as Wikipedia.
  3. ufo2000.net is down: no game server, no official site, no bugtracker.
  4. Just follow the basic security measures: do not download stuff from untrusted sources and check downloads with an antivirus if you are on Windows. Another approach might be the following: build up a test virtual machine and download suspicious files there. In case of infection -- revert to clean machine state. Nothing special to do with UFO2000 here
  5. Thanks, but I do not urge you to find those DLLs Maybe that is the problem of my system that has outdated version of MinGW – I have similar problem when compiling revision 1174. I will try to configure the latest MinGW to compile your code, which is based on revision 1164, as far as I see from the diff file.
  6. Hello! It's interesting tool to try, even for me, who is not annoyed with copy&paste of soldiers What are you going to do about several weaponsets? Maybe add weaponset name into soldier description? I did not managed to run your EXE, it requires libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll and libstdc++-6.dll
  7. Thank you! This is yet another thing where current UFO2000 version differs from the original.
  8. Thanks, but UnrealEd this is not working on Windows 7. I went to the betaarchive forums you mentioned for more info. There was a suggestion to install UnrealEdFix4. I got it from http://www.oldunreal.com/officialpatches.html it resolved a problem of "threed32.ocx is incorrect" but UnrealEd crashes after that nevertheless. If I manage to start UnrealEd, what should I do to launch the game?
  9. I have a question related to X-COM tactical part, which I can not answer myself without extensive playing. I remember that soldiers can turn when reacting on alien movement. The question is, will 1 TU be deducted if a soldier will turn for 45 degrees to open reaction fire?
  10. This weapon is unavailable intentionally, it is too powerful for multiplayer. Look at Serge's answer #8 in FAQ: http://www.xcomufo.com/forums/index.php?sh...st&p=127791
  11. I assumed that you were talking about Map Maker, so I tried to use it (version 2.0) on Linux. There is an error in code and the tool does not work on Linux, whichever path you will put in "Current Extension path" field. I solved that error, you can take corrected mapmaker.html file from the bugtracker's issue #630. In my Ubuntu linux where my account is named "fomka" I put the following into the extension path /home/fomka/ufo2000/UFO2000 Beta 0.9.1142/extensions/terrain-dawn-city The corrected Map Maker works then.
  12. No missing files there, all 44 are present, just like in my installation.
  13. That icon can even be used as a cursor image, if flipped horizontally
  14. Maybe that first Medic gave you intel on some alien race that is not present in your game installation and that crashed your game. As far as I remember, if you reload a save before a Medic research is completed, that research may give you another result, another alien race. If this is true, and if after some save-reloading the game crashes, then the problem is in installation (some alien race is missing).
  15. I do not know about other players, but I finished the game only two times myself and the time span in-between was about several years. The letter is complicated for me, but one place in it made me smile
