  1. Well, to be honest, that was what Project Xenocide was all about. For v.1 we wanted to have UFO1 with up to date graphics and sound. Not more not less. We had a lot planned for future versions too, like incorporating submarine TFTD-like action for v.2. But in the end we had too few people interested in what we did, so it died. That said, if you know anyone able to program in C# / XNA - be my guest to revive the project
  2. At least someone who's posting...
  3. 2nd solution seems the easiest You're welcome to provide a patch...
  4. Dear Project Xenocide Community, it is with utter regret and disappointment that we have to announce the discontinued development for Xenocide. In the last years it became clear to us, that we do not have enough manpower to proceed with the speed necessary to attract skilled people and finish the project in a foreseeable timeframe. We have opened our ?Workshops? for everyone to see, and maybe some day someone will have the courage to continue the development. There still is a small group of Xenocide developers online and we will continue to browse the forums and response to your messages. So should you have any ideas to bring Xenocide back to life, or if you want to use some of our material, please do not hesitate to contact us through the contact form on this website, or drop Mad a PM. Thank you all for your continued support and all your friendly messages over the time! Last but by far not least a big thanks to all the members of the Project Xenocide development team who have donated large amounts of their spare time and a lot of passion. Farewell, thank you for the wonderful time, The Project Xenocide Seniors
  5. Guys, I really appreciate what you are trying to do, but this is not a recruitment center for X-Com Origins. Let the old lady die in peace. xrabohrok: Xenocide is pretty much not acitve, most members MIA. There is a chance to revive it, there is always a chance. On the other hand, X-Com Origins (http://www.xcomufo.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=242029486&st=0&gopid=189189&) has a lot of steam right now, so maybe you can do more over there. It is up to you. If you're still interested in trying to revive the (more or less) dead horse Xenocide, drop me a PM, maybe we can work something out. Closed.
  6. Modified a few things, removed some typos (not all highlighted). I think this one is very close to completion.
  7. I will see what i can do. They are in 3ds max 2009 format at the moment. max does have an fbx conversion option i dont actually know how stable that makes them afterwards though, and they are rigged too. If it doesn't work, don't worry too much. 3DS is ok as well. It would however be perfect if you could provide both, fbx and 3ds.
  8. Sgt Jones, could you provide these models as FBX? This way we could use them most easily.
  9. Yes and no. It is true, the last major build was released 2008, but we have continued to work on this, and actualy new builds were created and ("secretly") uploaded as the 2008 build. We just felt that the smaller changes didn't warrant a full release. These are great models. We should definetly include them. I'll speak to dteviot about this.
  10. Great! thanks! However, I won't be able to build this for a few more days (It's crazy out here right now). If anybody else can jump in, please, be my guest! I'll even test if it works under W7 64bit.
  11. It's a start. Thanks for searching for it!
  12. No, it's not a top priority. Just something we should keep in mind.
  13. @kafros: Yes, well, you know me... @Darkhomb: I ssseeeeee... Thank you for assuring me that it was funny. Now I almost certainly know it wasn't @Mad: Back on topic.
  14. I didn't mean Shinzon. NVM it was waaay off topic.
  15. You can message The Creator? Wow...
  16. Hi! Well everyone can help - applications via PM to me. What will be your job? Most Texts are already completed or at least close to completion. Your job will be to :proofread check for consistency errors ensure that the text matches the style used in the other entries rewrite if and where necessary proofread again and again post your result incorporate comments from your fellow writers proofread post your result if finished=1 goto end if finished=0 goto proofread :end (agreed this code could be nicer and much more effective ) If you are willing to do just that, please be very welcome to join the team. I'm awaiting your application.
  17. Wonderful work! Looks great!
  18. It's the current build available on the website (http://www.projectxenocide.com/download/xna.Xenocide.0.4.0.1836.exe). I compiled it (AFAIK). But I guess the problem won't occur on a PC with the development environment installed. We've had several problems which only showed on "virgin" installations. But I don't know where the administrator joins in the picture.
  19. Thanks for the offer, but the thing is, it's not a problem I have - it's a user who just installed Xenocide. But he doesn't experience the problem when runnig the game as admin. So I don't see where it could no tbe the game...?
  20. The first sounds like an installer file, and I didn't have anything to do with that. Yes, I know, that's why I said it's not a problem (if it's created by the installer Windows doesn't mind. I just mentioned it to have a complete "list" of all logfiles) That would be perfect. Thank you! I don't think there are any problems when running as admin. It's only if people use the standard setting (not an admin) when they develop difficulties.
  21. Somehow I missed this thread. Sorry for that. Welcome to the team Godo! Wonderful work!
  22. I'm a bit confused, what log files are we talking about here? Also, as regards Documents and Settings vs Users, that should be taken care of automatically for the save files. (We're using API calls to find the user's directory for them.) We're talking about install.log and CEgui.log. Those two go into the installation directory. The first one is not a problem, the second one is. Yes, he was, but he was running as Admin. Is there a way to ensure that the game won't need admin rights to run? Or if it absolutely does, could we check for it and pop up a box "Needs admin rights" or something like this?
  23. This problem is eliminated when running the game as admin. So I guess using the Appdata folder might clear this too.
