  1. gotcha, i'll start an industrial/classical/creepy/trance/deep/loopable song and see what i come up with. i'll let you know when i got something worth listening to.
  2. what's deep mol music? band or song examples are welcome.
  3. well i wasn't planning on using this example for the game, i was going to write all new stuff once i got a better understanding of what you guys wanted... but if you like it i can change whatever you'd like
  4. it says my max file size is 512000 bytes. (512k)
  5. but what action is this sound? i think it might work as an alien attacking using melee or 'hand to hand'. i don't think it sounds like an alien gun, or an alien sliding across the floor. could be movement tho, i guess it depends on how they get around.... i think this is more of a major sound than a minor 'background' sound. i think trying to blend this sound into ambiance would result in muddiness of both the sound and the ambiance. i do get the feeling of movement from the sound. the volume starts low, builds, then decreases. like a car passing a stationary listener. maybe a dying droid? i think the cyberdisk.wav sound is much better for this tho. just put a little crash or explosion on the end of it and stick it in the game....
  6. i really like the way Fallout Tactics deals with characters, and i think that FT and this game have some things incommon. you grew attached to chars you had for a while, you were able to customize chars abilities as they grew with you, but i didn't like the way it just started you off with the same chars (even though your main was customizable). kinda forcing you to keep at least one of the chars you start with (Farsight) due to expierence and skill gain from that first mission. how about this. there is a pool of chars to start, and the first mission you go on uses all of the chars in the pool. the way they perform on the first mission determines which chars are allowed into X-com. sorta like 'The Right Stuff'. and the first mission could be like a tutorial. you don't actually fight aliens, they are simulated aliens, like the FBI or police training missions we see in movies and on TV. Think 'Men In Black' when will smith tries out for MiB. if there are different 'classes' (i.e. vehicle driver, sniper, demolitions, etc) then they can be tested against each other in easily made missions tailored to their 'class'.
  7. wow, i'm not sure what category i would put this in. it certainly sounds alien. but i think it might be too much. it sounds almost like an alien toliet flushing...or maybe an alien forgot to add the fabric softener? this would be usable, but where?
  8. the examples i have of my material are bigger than the allowed Max to post here (about 2mb or so). anyway around this?
  9. cool, these are a great starting point. any chance of getting these files in either non converted form or a better quality?
  10. why blow up the moon when there are plenty of things here on earth we can blow up?
