  1. I like to give them the 'Run on top of the CD, or my tank treatment...I love to watch the CDs shoot upwards and miss constantly...

My optimal base has the Access Lift connecting the hangars to the base, with the General Stores connecting the Lift to the other 1x1 installations...with a Laser Tank and about 8 soldiers with Laser rifles mowed even the Snake men down...as your soldiers hide in the Store rooms, then pop out and blast down the Lift...but you need to take out the Lift doors that allow you to see straight to the hangar. Then, even if they are no enemies coming, have your men pop out and shoot into the hangar. You would be amazed how many aliens bottleneck at the Hangar-Lift access hatch place. The laser tank is for Emergency fire to take down aliens that might get passed your defensive-soldiers...although then you can shoot 'em from behind
  4. Well, if you like to not have civvies die on terror missions, stun 'em, besides its fun too ROFL . Or you can MC them and have them charge a CD and die...or MC 'em and use them as an XCOM soldier-body-shield they can take a few blasts for ya... ...what sadistic things can you top over that?

So I have been uploading other ppl's games off this site, becoz I cant last more than 4 months, but one Base Defence on one uploaded version was pure evil... ...I had just finished my first Avenger in history, when my South Korean base got attack, no problemo, kicked 15 or so Chryssalids that invaded. My Avenger deployed from its Swiss Base and went to Australia to look for bases...bad idea. That PO$ ran out of fuel and had to return to base. Then, I find that my Swiss base was out of Elerium! So I transferred some from Area 51, but while I was waiting, a Battleship started to do the toilet-orbit of my Swiss base...Huh, I thought, thats odd...then I was embroiled in a Base Defence . Again, No problemo, or so I thought.... I had 25 or so Power Suited soldiers and 2 T-shirts to play with, and a bunch of Pistols, and Rifles to boot. With a few Lasers and Heavy Plasmas thrown in for good measure. I had my 5 Rocket Launchers with 2 Rocket HWPs stationed at the 3 choke points for the base...no prob UNTIL I found that my rifles and pistols were all empty! That meant... NO or Only 6 Needless to say, my boys didnt quite make it due to the fact that the Chryssalids charged my Rocket Launchers and Zombied them, I lost one choke point in a heated battle between 3 of my men, and aboot 12 Snake men, of those 3 there was only 1 with a laser rifle, and the other 2 had cattle prods...the rifle guy died, and the other one next to him picked it up only to die too, then my other prodder jumped into a tiny stair-room. One Snake followed him and got stunned from Reactions ROFL but then, my lift got swarmed too, and my 15 or so troops there got zombified...then I got my 4 other unarmed men out, and gathered weapons from my dead ppl, and retreated back into the 2nd floor, but only 2 were actually together, the other 2 were each separated. the snakemen jumped my guy with a cattle prod, who then dropped an HE pack gathered on 'em, and took out 8 snakes, and then prodded the last one. While my dynamic duo took out 5 Chryssalids, and another 9 Snakes...but saddly the 6th Chryssy took my duo out, and then later on, my Mr Prodder stunned another Chryssy, while my other guy who had been stuck in a workshop with a Laser pistol took out the last Chryssy. Mr Prodder was the unfortunate victim of the last Snake, while Mr LPistol panicked, and died the next turn
  6. If you were to rush in with only one type of weapon (IE: He packs, Proxies, pistols, etc.) what would you pick? I would pick HE packs...its fun to watch half a city explode in one turn on a terror mission

  10. nope. you lose their LOS, but the aliens can see thru him, stun him, and put him in the backpack, and the aliens can't MC troops seen by the MC'ed soldier....you can also put fatally wounded, and unconcious soldiers in ur backpack too, and the soldier wont die =)

  12. smoke grenade enhances my ppl's lifespan to....about 3 seconds
  13. Stun your MC'ed soldier and put him in your backpack, that saves him, and frees him of the MC
  14. Sorry, but another thing you could do if you were medkitless is stuff the soldier in your backpack.... And I think that HE packs are awesome on close-quarters Terror missions where you could drop the pack on your enemies heads
  15. First mission for our Brave Heroes: Longshot, Dipstik, and Jackass: The Defense of Norad had been ugly, 75 rooks dead, Jackass in my backpack nearly dead, and Dipstik with a fatal wound. That was three weeks ago, and with Kappa resecured by a rook team of 16, we were ready to one of the five UFO bases dogging our alien suppression efforts. With a team of 8 other Squaddies/Seargants, we were ordered to take out a base dubed the !!! base...but some fat pencil pusher, I think his name was Hammond, or Oneilll, said this would be our last mission if we failed. The Funding council was fed up with our efforts...So it was a last-ditch gamble, 4 skyrangers full of soldiers would each base, with the biggest base being hit by us. We should never have even gotten close...upon landing, the initial securing team was hit by stun bomb fire, Dipstik and Jackass rushed foward, and carried those who could be saved back to the medics, while I blasted with a rocket launcher. Then, our HWP Laser tanks were all knocked out in a fire fight...at this point everyone retreated back up to the extract area, and left those few who were alive, for dead...But we managed to blast those poor basque turds as they got near that lift...but then we waited...and nothing happened. Thinking that there might be only one defender we came down...nothing....We blew up the command center.... still nothing we searched all but one room, and when we go there, a CD was stuck behind a wall of specimen containers. We had a medic with us, a guy named Virgil Gallagher, who was very shortly to become one of the cadre... I stood guard against the CD, whil Jackass and dipstik tried to get a a better shot than I had, then it struck, Dipstik was hit but not badly, but he dropped his equipment and ran....right into Jackass LOF. Jackass reactioned on the CD, but really hit Dipstick and knocked the poor guy out. then I fired, and hit the CD several times, but didnt kill it. then I turned 90 degrees to se another CD right next to me. I fired and killed it but that was all I Remember Virgil was pelting the CD with rocket fire, while Jackass ruched Dipstik to him, fixed him up, and sent him back into the fray...while Jackass suppressed the CDs urge to move, Virgil got Longshot on his feet, but the weapons we had with us just couldn't bring it down. Until Virgil charged the CD with an HE pack threw it, got reactioned to death, and blew the CD up......Mission accomplished!

Rifle....it is the bread and butter of my troops, becoz I like to stay at Standoff Range and plaster those aliens with a lot o lead, or zap the air with lasers, I never have equipped plasma to my troops, only lasers. BTW- Random question, how do you stop one of your unconcious, and fatally wounded troops from dying? I will answer later
  17. Nope, it was month 3 and the first thing that had happened beyond landings...I counted emm, and was like AHHHHHHHH!

NORAD defense: 75 Rooks, Captain Dipstik, Commander Jacka$$, and Seargent Longshot....75 Heavy lasers I gave them to the rooks, and my cream troops were given stun rods and a bunch of HE packs, and HE grenades My Rooks were stationed at the choke point, but were mown down by 60 Floaters. Some of those basque turds died from reaction fire, but not much. Longshot found a rocket launcher, inexplicably unavailable in the equip screen, but he picked it up with 3 incindieries(one loaded) and one big rocket. Longshot fired down the corridor, and took out 55 Floaters all at once. Then the three CDs show up, and took out the hiding Rooks (10) that were supposed to be the cross-fire team. Longshot fired both of the flamer rockets, and ducked for cover. Jack, and Dipstick ran up to the rooks, and grabbed lasers, and pelted the CDs position....nothing, no hits whatsoever. Then Jackass was killed by undetonated Grenades and high explosive packs the rooks had, and I armed. Dipstick fatally wounded...not it was all up to Longshot's last rocket....he shoots and kills one *well* I thought *this is it for Norad* Then, one of the dead Floaters' grenades explode, killing the last 2 CDs
  19. If you are talking about the yellow region that hase the green circle around it, it is Craters of the Moon National park, it has features similar to the moon, and was where the astronauts trained using the moonbuggy car
  20. Nasty Buggers....I had a stunned floater that was being stood on byone of my troops....it woke up and instanly killed my soldier....if you want to make sure they dont do any damage, take their weapon, and deposit it somewhere, they dont pick weapons up

Ok, i have been playing this game, and I can deal with the terror site ok, I can take out the bases....with 5-9 Xcom Casualties, and a tank lost, but I always seem to lose my funding, and Countries will sign secret pacts with the aliens....can anyone help? And how much punishment can a Large, or Very Large UFO take? They have taken out both of my Interceptors equipped with 1 Laser cannon, and Avalanches
